Born and raised in Notting Hill, London to Maltese parents, Joseph Gatt knew by the age of eight that he wanted to be an actor. He began his professional training at Sylvia Young's Theatre School, and after a hiatus spent as a Commando in the British Royal Marines, Gatt later earned a BA in Acting & Musical Theatre from the Mountview Academy Of Theatre Arts.
Immediately after graduating, Gatt landed a series of TV, film, and theatre roles; including the UK national tour of "Great Expectations", with Brian Glover; the feature film "Orpheus & Eurydice", playing opposite Oliver Reed; the West End production of "Miss Saigon", produced by Cameron Macintosh; and a memorable episode of "The Bill", opposite Chris Ellison.
Throughout this period, Gatt also enjoyed a successful career as a print and runway model throughout Europe, most notably for Giorgio Armani.
In 2005, Gatt immigrated to the U.S., immediately booking lead roles in the Sy-Fy Channel pilot "Saurian"; the feature "Killing Ariel"; Wes Craven's "Pulse", opposite Kristen Bell; and Mary Lambert's "Dark Path Chronicles".
Gatt has also become a highly sought-after Motion Capture and Voice Over actor. In this field he is best known for his creation of the character “Kratos” in the multi award-winning games "God Of War 2" and "God Of War 3". Other credits include "MGS4", "Lair", "SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals", and "24: The Game".
Currently, Gatt is prepping for his most prominent job to date: a (secret) role in the forthcoming Marvel Studios film “THOR”, slated for release in 2011 |
